1973                 Awarded Licentiate of Trinity College, London (LTCL), flute

1974-1977         Bachelor of Music, University of Sheffield

                            Graduated with First Class Honours

                            Awarded Gibbons Prize

1977-1985         Ph.D.: ‘A Quest for Innocence: The Music of Frederick Delius 1885-1900’

1980                 Awarded state scholarship from Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

1980-1985         Writer and consultant for NRK (Norwegian State Broadcasting)

1985-                Conductor of a wide variety of orchestra, choirs, and bands

1989-2010         Arts Editor and, later, Leader Writer of Demokraten, newspaper in Fredrikstad.

2001                 Granted membership of Norwegian Playwrights’ Guild

2010                 Became full-time freelance author and musician
